What will this course cover?

The LightSpeed training course will take both programmers and designers/artists from basics to advanced concepts and techniques using separate tracks, although we address artists and programmers jointly to make sure every member of the team understands the basics of one anothers' issues. This 3 day course brings students up to full velocity on Gamebryo LightSpeed.

 

Day 1:

  • Joint session: Introduction, Gamebryo concepts, LightSpeed technology and workflow
  • Artists/Designers: LightSpeed tools (Enity Modeling Tool and Worldbuilder)
  • Engineers: LightSpeed architecture, services

Day 2: 

  • Artists/Designers: LightSpeed techniques, scripting; DCC export tool
  • Engineers: LightSpeed internals, implementation; Core Runtime rendering

Day 3:

  • Artists/Designers: Materials & shaders, terrain
  • Engineers: Core Runtime infrastructure, Physics, platform-specific issues
  • Joint session: large hands-on project
