Expanding Global Presence, Growing Customer Base and Rising Sales Point to Record-breaking Year
CALABASAS, Calif. – Aug. 13, 2008 -- Emergent is rapidly expanding Gamebyro’s presence as the game industry’s choice for the foundation of AAA titles with more than 50 Gamebryo deals recently closed. This brings the total to more than 330 Gamebryo projects being developed, 250 games already shipped and 140 plus companies supported by Emergent teams across four continents.
The success stems from industry recognition of Emergent’s unique ability to provide a modular and flexible development platform with global team support. These technical capabilities across all three next-gen platforms were dramatically increased with the recent introduction of Gamebryo 2.5. Emergent has also continued to expand its relationships internationally with local presence to provide support and added resources for the development community.
Some of Emergent’s most recent successes included key North American wins with marquee game industry names including Disney Interactive and 2K Games. Emergent also secured the very first Indian licensing deal backed by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, for Aurona’s upcoming Hanuman title. Emergent’s recently closed deal with Ignition Entertainment illustrates developers’ belief in Emergent’s AAA performance and worldwide support capability. Ignition’s European and Asian offices independently evaluated Gamebryo and reached the same conclusion.
“Our project calls for a very specific blend of power and flexibility that we felt would only be provided by Gamebryo. We were also encouraged by Emergent's interest in building a long-term relationship and giving us intimate support at every stage of development" said Ed Bradley, development manager, Ignition Entertainment.
Emergent’s CEO credits much of this year’s global success to more than Gamebryo’s world class technology. The company has achieved these wins by being guided by a philosophy to provide more than just a product.
“Our worldwide support infrastructure gives us an unprecedented and unmatched ability to empower developers and publishers in a period of increasing globalization,” said Geoffrey Selzer, CEO, Emergent Game Technologies. “Emergent isn’t just a technology provider. We build long-lasting relationships with the development community by being a resource they can count on.”
The wide variety of development possible with Gamebryo is illustrated by the range of genres represented by recent deals. Gamebryo is being used to build Splatterhouse brawler title, Dungeon Party MMO, Disney Magic Board Online racing game, Blood Bowl fantasy football simulation and Sid Meier’s Civilization IV: Colonization strategy game, among many others.
Other high profile overseas customers include:
