Emergent Scores Gamebryo Casual Licensing Deals Worldwide

CALABASAS, Calif. -- Oct. 22, 2008 – After only two months in the market, developers across the globe have joined up with Emergent to use Gamebryo Casual to change the gaming landscape. With immediate success signing customers after the launch at GC Leipzig, the casual and short format industry is clearly embracing Gamebryo Casual.

Gamebryo Casual provides the same powerful production software, design tools and support used to create big budget AAA titles in a package that meets the limited budgets, timelines and high expectations of casual game developers on all platforms.  Using Gamebryo Casual’s highly scalable development environment frees them from spending time and resources in tech development cycles when they could be creating innovative gameplay.  These savings enable developers to create short-format titles that push the boundaries of the “casual” gaming market.

Titles under development span the full spectrum of genres from action-adventure to first-person shooter, racing to strategy.  The companies are working on games for PSN, XBLA, WiiWare and the PC.

Developers that have licensed Gamebryo Casual include:

  • 51.com
  • Digital Embryo
  • DIGITALIC
  • Hidden Path
  • Stickmen
  • Wideload Games

“There is a wealth of untapped creativity in this industry that has been hindered by skyrocketing development costs of traditional retail releases and the limited capabilities of casual game technology,” said Katie Morgan, VP of sales and marketing, Emergent Game Technologies. “Gamebryo Casual lets us nurture developer talent around the world by giving them the means to bring their big ideas and full featured gameplay to the short format at a reasonable price.”

Gamebryo Casual also has various partner integrations that benefit casual developers by providing middleware that create an integrated development pipeline with Gamebryo.  Industry leaders such as AudioKinetic’s Wwise, Allegorithmic’s ProFX and Scaleform’s GFX are supported, documented and rigorously tested by Emergent.
