Gamebryo Helps Create Another Exceptional Massively Multiplayer Real Time Strategy Game

CALABASAS, Calif. (April 29, 2008) –Emergent Game Technologies announced today that its award-winning Gamebryo video game development platform was used in Black Sea Studio’s highly anticipated title, WorldShift.  WorldShift, currently in open beta, is a next-generation cyber-fantasy RTS set in distant future of Earth. For the first time ever, with WorldShift, Black Sea Studios introduced many new features in RTS genre like outstanding co-operative online gameplay, persistent specializations and modifiable factions.

The stunning online title is being previewed as “looking really nice, with shiny graphics and detailed units…WorldShift is poised to earn a variety of fans,” by editors at IGN.
“This combination of an RTS and MMO exemplifies the flexibility and modularity of our technology,” said Geoffrey Selzer, CEO of Emergent. “We are dedicated to providing technology that enables studios like Black Sea to create beautiful, unique and creative games without limitations.  WorldShift is a fantastic example of what you can do with Gamebryo and we are delighted to have worked with Black Sea on this title.”

“Gamebryo’s suite of programming tools has enabled our development team to deliver what is sure to be an amazing online RTS game experience,” said Vesselin Handjiev, Managing Director of Black Sea Studios.  “We found Gamebryo to be the most robust and flexible platform out there. With it we were able to fully focus on designing and implementing all the innovative features in WorldShift, like multiplayer co-op gameplay for example, which we are happy to see many other RTS developers are now starting to adopt as well.”
