Emergent Game Technologies Hosts Free Hands-On Gamebryo Training Road Show in Asia

October 09, 2008

Calabasas, Calif. - October 9, 2008 - Emergent Game Technologies continues to expand its presence in Asia with a free five-city Gamebryo training road show.  The daylong Gamebryo training will use a modular style to teach users how to quickly create a mini game or prototype in only one day.  The tour will begin Oct. 28 and will continue through Nov. 12, visiting Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Xiamen in China and Taipei in Taiwan.

Gamebryo, Emergent’s cross-platform game development engine is becoming the development platform of choice for Asian studios. Chinese studios Shanda, 9You, Tencent, The9, Aurogon, Powerleader and Winking, as well as Seed, IGS, XPEC Softstar and Keystone in Taiwan all have licensed Gamebryo for upcoming titles. More than 100 companies in Korea including NC Soft, NHN KRG Soft, Vertigo, Red Duck, KOG, Nexon, Movon and Korean powerhouse Dragonfly are all using Gamebryo as their technology of choice.

Attendees will receive hands‐on experience with Gamebryo from Zhenping Guo, a senior Gamebryo engineer and support expert.  Guo will walk attendees through Gamebryo tutorials and programming fundamentals, and provide guidance on integration and support for engineers and artists.  Two Emergent partners, Scaleform and Winking, will be joining as co-sponsors of the event. Ben Mowery of Scaleform will participate in the training activities by providing instruction on the use of Scaleform’s GFx integration into Gamebryo.

The seminar attendees will also get the opportunity to learn about Gamebryo's shader system and animation runtime functions, as well as Floodgate's multicore APIs.  Partner tools will be included, such as NVIDIA’s PhysX, IDV’s Speedtree and additional Gamebryo partner technologies.

The Gamebryo presentation will be given in Chinese and there will be dedicated Q&A opportunities throughout the seminar. Seats are limited and are given on a first-come, first-serve basis.  No laptop is required.  Please contact Eddie Zhang at junfu.zhang@winkingworks.com if you are interested in attending the seminar.
