CALABASAS, Calif. – Dec. 17, 2008 – 3DreamTeam has selected Emergent’s Gamebryo to recreate some of the world’s most famous landmarks in highly-detailed 3D models for the educational portal Vizerra.com. The site will give users the opportunity to surf the world’s most interesting locations in a 3D real-time format.
3DreamTeam already created virtual copies / models of such famous sites like Indian Taj Mahal, medieval Tatev monastery in Armenia, the Lost Incan City of Machu Picchu in Peru, Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia, the Assumption Cathedral at the Moscow Kremlin and some others. Creating these models 3DreamTeam was not only trying to make them visually impressive and maximum accurate, but also to perform the educational purpose of the portal. This is why each location has a detailed editorial part, provided by the best world museums and publishers like, for example, National Geographic Russia, and other reputable sources.
Vizerra is simple to use, it is a client-server application, which allows user to start the browser with 3D locations. 3DreamTeam plans to make the portal multilingual and “inhabit” all locations with animated characters. Users will be able to play on-line games, choose a 3D avatar or invite other users to meet up in Taj Mahal or on top of the Coliseum. For children there is an option to play mini-quests inside the 3D world.
“Vizerra is a very dynamic project,” says 3DreamTeam CEO Arman Gukasian. “Every month we’ll be offering our users 3-4 new locations and adding new options to the ones we already posted on our portal, which makes our project unique. We are creating new innovative product in field of Edutaiment.”
For Vizerra production process 3DreamTeam chose Gamebryo (Game Engine AAA rating) by Emergent Game Technologies, used for such games like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, Sid Meier's Civilization IV, etc. In addition to Gamebryo products by Emergent’s partners Audiokinetic, Allegorithmic, Scaleform, IDV and other companies were also integrated.
Reconstructing famous locations in 3D format is not the only field of business 3DreamTeam is proficient in. “We also use 3D game technologies in serious applications for B2B sector – Serious Games,” says Arman Gukasian. “Such applications gives new opportunities for business, for example Real Estate Developers, where one can see the object before it is constructed and in real-time can surf and examine all the errors made in planning.”
